Tando is operated by Vastara Ventures Limited, a company registered in Nigeria (RC 9881159). It operates a technology platform that connects passengers who want a ride with independent drivers who provide it. We are not a transport company, and we do not employ the drivers. The transport contract is between the passenger and the driver.
You must be 18 or older. Give accurate information, keep your sign-in method secure, and do not let anyone else use your account. One person, one account.
You are shown a price before you book, and that price is what you pay for the trip, held for a short window while you confirm. Your price is set when you ask for it: a base fare, plus an amount for the driving distance, plus an amount for the expected driving time in traffic at that moment (up to 90 minutes), and never less than a minimum fare. Once you book, it does not change, even if the trip takes longer than expected. Cash is paid directly to the driver. Card payments are processed by Paystack; we never receive your card details. We deduct a platform commission from the driver’s earnings, which is shown to the driver at the end of each trip.
Busy times. When many people are booking near you and few drivers are free, prices may be higher, by at most 25% (currently 10%), and a higher minimum fare may apply (currently ₦3,000, never more than twice the normal minimum). The app shows this on the price before you book; the price you book is the price you pay. Trips booked for later are never priced this way.
Parcel photo. When you send a package, the app may ask you for one photo of it before you book. The driver who accepts the delivery sees it until the trip ends, to check it is the right package.
You may cancel before the trip starts. A driver may also hand a trip back, in which case we look for another driver. No cancellation fee is currently charged.
You must hold a valid driver’s license and any permit required to carry passengers, and you must keep the vehicle you registered roadworthy and insured. You must not let anyone else drive on your account. We may suspend your account if documents expire, if we receive credible safety reports, or if we detect attempts to manipulate fares or trips.
No violence, harassment, discrimination, weapons or illegal goods. No attempts to interfere with the app or the systems behind it. Serious breaches end the account immediately, and may be referred to the police.
The app provides a PIN that the driver must enter to start a trip, an SOS button, and a record of each trip. These are safeguards, not guarantees. In an emergency, contact the emergency services first.
We provide the platform “as is”. We are responsible for operating it with reasonable skill and care, but we are not responsible for the conduct of a passenger or driver, or for delays and losses outside our reasonable control. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law.
You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account — see the deletion page. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and disputes are subject to the courts of Lagos State.
